Brains, Meaning and Corpus Statistics Google Tech Talks March 27, 3009 ABSTRACT Presented by Tom M. Mitchell E. Fredkin Professor and Department Head Machine Learning Department Carnegie Mellon University How does the human brain represent meanings of words and pictures in terms of the underlying neural activity? This talk will present our research using machine learning methods together with fMRI brain imaging to study this question. One line of our research has involved training classifiers that identify which word a person is thinking about, based on their neural activity observed using fMRI. A more recent line involves developing a computational model that predicts the neural activity associated with arbitrary English words, including words for which we do not yet have brain image data. This computational model is trained using a combination of fMRI data associated with several dozen concrete nouns, together with statistics gathered from a trillion-word text corpus. Once trained, the model predicts fMRI activation for any other concrete noun appearing in the text corpus, with highly significant accuracies over the 60 nouns for which we currently have fMRI data. The mission is to destroy 6 hardened shelters, the truth is JKPFA made the combat in FA way more harder (especially) due to the enhanced missiles accuracies, and different sensory behavior, while it made personal flying and combat more interesting, it made your wingmen frustratingly stupid at times and much more easier to die. This mod also give many new flyable aircraft, and new weapons; although not all aircrafts have the correct shape (he admitted he didn't do shape editing). If you noticed, both my wingmen died and I decided to run away at the end due to avoid the unwanted thing (I killed several times on my way back to base because I ran out of chaff and clares while engaging these mirages -often alone since my wingmen often died during the attack on the base- lol) This is certainly one of the best game I've ever played.

Flow controlled micropump mp6 Flow Controlled Micropump mp6 The flow control in micropump mp6 can be realized by two different approaches: The mp6 micropump with the double actuator provides an intrinsic sensor function. The reversible piezo effect can be used for actuation (pumping) and sensing mode. By continuous operation between pumping and feedback mode, no significant drop of pump performance is observed. Lower accuracy, in the order of 10%, can be achieved based on the intrinsic sensor function for the feedback signal. Especially at higher flow ranges under varying system conditions (eg pressure conditions at the in- and outlet) the piezo sensor principle provides constant performance. For applications in the lower flow range with higher accuracy demands the closed-loop can be achieved by micropumps equipped with thermal flow sensors as sensing element. Accuracies in the range of 2-5% can be achieved by such hybrid systems. In both cases smart system electronics will give the user access to the system status and also allowing the manual administration of additional bolus rates. Both approaches offer interesting new potential for various applications, especially where small, portable and battery powered systems are required. Ball screws from Abssac 2010 Ball screws that have been cold rolled formed are ideal for applications that do not require the finite accuracy of the ground ball screw equivalents, but are still required to reliably transmit a linear load with high degree of accuracy. Put simply, the rolling process forms a thread for less cost than grinding. However, we can still achieve accuracies of C7-20 (that's 52 microns per 300mm of lead accuracy - 20 microns of axial backlash) . Ground formats for higher accuracy also available. Notre Dame de Paris - Minecraft Cathedral by TomBuilder This is my 1:1 scale Minecraft model for the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris. It is intended to be as close to an accurate representation of the real building as possible given the confines of 1-meter cubes. I thoroughly researched the details of the floor plan, windows, vaulting, buttresses, passageways, etc. The entire structure was built one block at a time in Survival mode with a colossal supply of refined stone, which I quarried as I landscaped the foundation and baked in multiple furnaces. I did purposefully sacrifice a few minor accuracies for artistic sake, most notably the Triforium is more open to the Nave than it should be, but it simply looks better this way in the game. Also, a major feature some people will notice missing, is the central spire. Rather than dig another 30 layers into the ground, which would have been impossible to rectify with the natural landscape, or build a sub-optimally short spire, I chose to omit the spire altogether. I may sometime use a level editor to increase the height of the map so I can build a proper spire. The dimensions are as close to the real Notre-Dame de Paris as possible, given the necessary constraints with the symmetries of the floor plan. Charting the Galaxy - from Hipparcos to Gaia Pt. 2 In this sixth episode of the Science@ESA vodcast series Rebecca Barnes discovers the motions of the stars, learns how astronomers measure their distances and looks at the new European mission that will really get to grips with our place in the Universe. Related news: Gaia is an ambitious mission to chart a three-dimensional map of our Galaxy, the Milky Way, in the process revealing the composition, formation and evolution of the Galaxy. Gaia will provide unprecedented positional and radial velocity measurements with the accuracies needed to produce a stereoscopic and kinematic census of about one billion stars in our Galaxy and throughout the Local Group. This amounts to about 1 per cent of the Galactic stellar population. Combined with astrophysical information for each star, provided by on-board multi-colour photometry, these data will have the precision necessary to quantify the early formation, and subsequent dynamical, chemical and star formation evolution of the Milky Way Galaxy. Additional scientific products include detection and orbital classification of tens of thousands of extra-solar planetary systems, a comprehensive survey of objects ranging from huge numbers of minor bodies in our Solar System, through galaxies in the nearby Universe, to some 500 000 distant quasars. Learning and Inference for Hierarchically Split PCFGs Google Tech Talks February, 28 2008 ABSTRACT Treebank parsing can be seen as the search for an optimally refined grammar consistent with a coarse training treebank. We describe a method in which a minimal grammar is hierarchically refined using EM to give accurate, compact grammars. The resulting grammars are extremely compact compared to other high-performance parsers, yet the parser gives the best published accuracies on several languages, as well as the best generative parsing numbers in English. In addition, we give an associated coarse-to-fine inference scheme which vastly improves inference time with no loss in test set accuracy. Air GuitarHero Long Presented at UIST (ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology) PAPER ABSTRACT: Previous work has demonstrated the viability of applying offline ***ysis to interpret forearm electromyography (EMG) and classify finger gestures on a physical surface. We extend those results to bring us closer to using musclecomputer interfaces for always-available input in real-world applications. We leverage existing taxonomies of natural human grips to develop a gesture set covering interaction in free space even when hands are busy with other objects. We present a system that classifies these gestures in real-time and we introduce a bi-manual paradigm that enables use in interactive systems. We report experimental results demonstrating four-finger classification accuracies averaging 79% for pinching, 85% while holding a travel mug, and 88% when carrying a weighted bag. In speculation, X Accuracies would be good. Lucario; Extremely deadly. Take it out before it can attack. Garchomp; Doubly weak to Ice, knows Stone Edge to take out anything that flies. Shibirudon; Electric with Levitate, so no weaknesses unless you have Mold Breaker, like Lowel did. Knows Flamethrower and Dragon Claw, it's quite a foe. Milotic; Knows Blizzard to beat Grass types, and Level Ground to beat Electrics, also knows Hydro Pump and Dragon Tail. Wargle; It likes to use Brave Bird, which has recoil, so if you're stuck, simply revive again until it does enough chip damage. Then go in for the kill. This is an amazingly good team, took me several tries to find an accurate strat JUST to get past Spiritomb. If I took Sazandora over Ononokusu, I might not have gone past Shibu. Will definitely replicate this team.
The Dirty Dozen (1967) - Part 4 Part 4 of "The Dirty Dozen." Now our recruits head off to their secluded training facility...which also has to serve as their acting prison while they prepare for their mission. Will all of the men keep their word and not attempt to escape? Some of you are probably wondering if this story has any basis in reality. And it should be very obvious by this point that the premise of this film, however noble it may be, is completely fictional in nature. However, I don't think that detracts from this film in the least. In fact, my opinion is that the best war films are in fact completely fictional. Sure, they may have some element of history to them, such as this one does regarding the impending D-Day invasion. But sometimes a fictional story will have better resonance and meaning as film than a purely documentary-style film, just because of the fact that it isn't forced to fit inside a square box and conform to specific historical accuracies. I sometimes feel that's the reason why some films like "A Bridge Too Far" or "The Longest Day" don't hold up as well overtime. Oh sure, don't get me wrong, those are great films too, and they have a lot of combat-action...but they spend so much time dealing with the facts that you tend to lose sight of the individual characters, and why they matter to the audience. Anyway, that's just my opinion

The machine uses a laser to scribe the straightest line in the world while floating the glass on an air bearing. Accuracies of 3 microns over the entire surface of the glass are achievable.
PLASMA POLISHING (DEBURRING) galvanic processing of parts is often associated with poisonous baths and chemical fumes. Still, galvanic processes are widely used in the industry. For example, electrolytic polishing of stainless steel machine parts, jewelry, medical implants or surgical tools. Engineering company Alliance Technologies, based in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, has enforced a breakthrough. A novel polishing method has been developed, and successfully implemented on a prototype machine. Alliance Technologies has managed to control a highly unstable plasma, which is similar to a ball lightning in a water tank. The interesting thing about this plasma is that it has multiple functions: products surrounded by the plasma are polished, degreased and deburred in a single, short procedure. Irish Republican Media - Falls Road Curfew The Falls curfew took place on July 3-5 1970. Four civilians were shot dead by the British army and one killed by an armoured car. Three hundred people were arrested without any charges against them. All males between the ages of 18 and 30 were arrested merely for living in the area.
